Platform Statement:

NACADA has contributed to my professional and personal development in countless ways. Professionally, NACADA has legitimized and anchored academic advising on my campus and within my university system as important in promoting student persistence and success. Personally, NACADA has provided me with a network of colleagues with whom to bounce ideas, garner support and, at times, commiserate!

NACADA continues to become. Through regional and national initiatives, NACADA is solidifying its place within a national higher education context—making these exciting times indeed. I think the efforts to align NACADA with the work of organizations such as AAC&U, AAHE, NASPA and others are important to continue. In addition, the recent work on framing (and reframing) the core values and the concept of academic advising has been significant and will, in turn, inform and shape NACADA's initiatives with regard to assessment. I think these efforts should and will come together through a cohesive and responsive regional and national professional development plan for the membership.

I'm energized by all that NACADA is about and is becoming. As a result, I would very much like to be part of NACADA's growth by serving on its Board.
