Statement:
As
budget cuts and other negative forces continue to threaten higher
education, professional development of NACADA members becomes
more challenging. We are all forced to demonstrate more creativity
to maintain our standards in the field.
It would be my intention,
as Chair of the Professional Development Committee, to strengthen
the foundation of what so many good people have worked so hard
to establish over the years. But I would challenge us to reach
higher and think more creatively to guide others in their professional
development journeys. The theme of "doing more with less" does
not mean sacrificing quality, so we'll look for ways to keep
quality professional development a high priority among our membership.
