Platform Statement:

  • Highlight your previous involvement within this unit that will help you in leading this unit. What roles have you played within this particular unit as a member thus far?

I have been involved in this commission for 2 years, and I would like to do what I can to see it grow.

  • What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives for this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and the Association?

Being a relatively young commission, I believe the most important goal for the Advising Education Majors Commission is to continue to identify the critical issues faced by advisors who work with education students. Once these issues have been identified, the commission can begin to address the needs and interests of its members.

  • Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or what influenced you to run for this leadership position?

I see leadership as service. I would like to use my skills and talents to serve the commission and NACADA in a greater way than I am currently. I see this as the perfect way to accomplish this goal.

  • Provide any additional comments or information (either personal or leadership-related) that you want potential voters to know about you that is not covered elsewhere in your platform information.
