Statement:
Highlight
your previous involvement within this unit that will help
you in leading this unit. What roles have you played within
this particular unit as a member thus far? |
I
have attended Distance Education interest group meetings at three
previous National Conferences - Cincinnati, Las Vegas, Indianapolis.
I am a member of the listserv and try to assist colleagues across
the membership whenever I can.
What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives
for this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and
the Association?
Distance
Education is the fastest growing area in higher education right
now and will most likely continue to be so in the next five years.
I believe we need to start assessing our advising of distance students
and increase our research base to provide better advising to this
population of students.
Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or
what influenced you to run for this leadership position?
Serving
in a leadership position is an opportunity to give back to the Distance
Education community and to strengthen the commission presence within
NACADA.
Provide any additional comments or information (either
personal or leadership-related)
that you want potential voters to know about you that is not covered
elsewhere in your platform information.
