Pursuing
a career in the fine arts can lead to a lifetime of fulfilling
work. Yet, multiple challenges exist including making money,
building a career, capitalizing on limited opportunities, dealing
with commercialism, and making sense of the mechanics and metaphysics
of this particular career path. Advising fine arts students
can be especially challenging for those who do not interact
with such students on a regular basis. This interest group is
charged with providing information and support to other professionals
working with fine arts students. Through on-line dialogue, and
meetings at the national conventions, participants can share
advising strategies, programs, and resources.
Whether you advise fine arts students occasionally or daily,
we are interested in learning more about your experiences and
sharing ours.
