Call for Award Nominations

Nominate your campus outstanding advisor for a MACADA award. Any individual serving as an academic advisor, faculty academic advisor, or advising administrator and employed by a regionally accredited post-secondary institution may be nominated. Only one nominee per category from each institution will be considered.

NEW Graduate Student Conference Scholarship Award

Graduate students pursuing advanced education in programs related to academic advising, student support, higher education administration, or a related field are encouraged to apply.  Award recipients will be invited to attend the annual MACADA Conference in the fall as a guest of the MACADA Executive Board and will receive a complimentary one year MACADA membership in addition to having their conference registration paid.  Specific eligibility and submissions requirements are listed on the nomination form below.  Questions should be addressed to Tammy Welchert, MACADA President-Elect at welchertt@umkc.eduor (816) 235-1385.  Nominations will be accepted through August 10, 2010.

The MACADA Awards are designed to honor individuals and institutions in Missouri that have made contributions to academic advising within MACADA and their institutions. It is our hope that this program will encourage wider support and recognition of academic advising.

 

Categories

Outstanding Advisor Awards:

o    Academic Advising, Primary Role: Individuals whose primary role at the institution is the direct delivery of advising services to students. The individual selected will be awarded $100, a plaque, and one year's membership in MACADA.

o    Faculty Academic Advising: Individuals whose primary responsibility is teaching and who spend a portion of their time providing academic advising services to students. The individual selected will be awarded $100, a plaque, and one year's membership in MACADA.

o    Academic Advising Administrator: Individuals who may provide direct academic advising services but whose primary responsibility is as an administrator or director of an academic advising program. The individual selected will be awarded $100, a plaque, and one year's membership in MACADA.

Pacesetter Award -- Individuals nominated should be up-line administrators and have no direct involvement with or responsibility for the administration of advisors or advising. The individual selected will be awarded $100, a plaque, and one year's membership in MACADA.

Nominations: Nominations are accepted each fall and winners announced at the Annual conference.

Best of MACADA Conference Award

The Best of MACADA Award is the outstanding presentation at our Annual MACADA conference selected by colleagues each year.
