Great Lakes Region 5

Applications will be available by May 15th and will be due by July 15th of each year.

Purpose of Grants

To foster professional growth for academic advisors and to promote the strategic goals of NACADA as well as the profession of advising, the Region V Steering Committee, on behalf of the members of the Region, offers grants. 

  • Individual Scholarship  (link to application)
    This scholarship is intended to support an individual (professional, faculty, or peer) who is engaging, or seeking to engage, in activities intended to further one’s role, function or responsibility within the field of Academic Advising.
  • Professional Development (link to application)
    To support advisor training and professional development efforts (professional, faculty, or peer), provided by any allied or non-allied advising organization.
  • Institutional Allied Organization (link to application)
    In order to promote the continued development of allied institutional advising organizations within the Great Lakes Region
  • State/Province Allied Organization (link to application)
    In order to promote the continued development of allied state and provincial advising organizations within the Great Lakes Region

  • Theresa Farr, Illinois State University, State/Province Allied Organization Grant, $500
  • Jaton Brame, Wilberforce University, Great Lakes~Great Leaders Grant, $500

In 2005, the Region 5 Steering Committee awarded 2 Scholars Grants, 3 Advisors Training and Development Grants, 1 Allied State Organization Grant, and 1 Allied Institutional Organization Grant:

In 2004, one scholarship and three training and professional development grants were made.
