NACADA Region 6 Scholarship Information
Each award and scholarship have specific criteria and application processes. The awards and scholarships available for 2012 are:
- Region 6 Tribal Advisor Grant: To recognize Tribal College advisors who are responsible for advising Aboriginal [First Nation, Metis Nation, and Inuit] students in Region 6.
We are pleased to offer these scholarships to our Region 6 Members. Detailed information on the Region 6 Conference is available at www.nacada.ksu.edu.
The criteria and applications for these awards and grants are below as is the link to the on-line submission portal.
Instructions for On-Line Submission:
- Enter a password - this can be simple and you can use the same one for other submissions
- Select your Region.
- Then select the award for which you are applying from the "Awards/Scholarship Category" drop down box.
- Be sure to write down your Award/Scholarship Nomination Number and your password, so if you have to stop and come back to the nomination form, you can do so easily! It will also be in your confirmation e-mail.
- Enter the information as it is requested. NOTE: The NOTIFICATION section is for you to list those people who you would want to know if you are selected for this award/scholarship. We would suggest your president/provost, your supervisors, your public relations department.
- You will need to upload some documents. They must be in pdf form. As these are different for each award, please see the Region Awards page for more information before you begin the submission process. you can leave and come back as long as you have not hit the SUBMIT button.

Region 6 Scholarships
Region 6 Tribal Advisor Grant
Eligibility:
You may be eligible for one of two grants we are able to offer through the NACADA North Central Region 6 Steering Committee. The grant will cover the entire registration fee for the regional conference and provide a one-year NACADA membership. To be eligible, you must be a Tribal College advisor or have as your primary work assignment, responsibility for advising Aboriginal [First Nation, Metis Nation, and Inuit] students in Region 6, which includes: the Northwest Territories (Canada), Manitoba (Canada), Saskatchewan (Canada), North Dakota (US), South Dakota (US), Nebraska (US), Iowa (US), and Minnesota (US).
Submission Procedures:
- Complete the on-line application form.
- Submit your resume which includes your present employment information.
- Submit a brief essay (200 words maximum) describing your interest in the NACADA Region 6 Conference and your experience in developing programming for your office or campus based on your conference experiences.

Region 6 Graduate Student Scholarship
Criteria:
- You must be a current graduate student (or have completed a recent graduate program in May 2012, and not currently employed full-time in an advising field).
- You must be a current student member of NACADA (or join as part of the conference registration process)
- You must attend the 2012 Region 6 Conference in Minneapolis, MN, May 2-4
Submission Procedures:
Please provide the following information using no more than 1-page typed:
- The goals you hope to accomplish by attending the 2012 Region 6 Conference
- Ways you would like to become involved with NACADA, especially Region 6
- Future career goals after you complete your current degree program
