Region Conferences in April & May
NACADA's 10 Region Conferences are designed to bring "NACADA Near You!" and meet your professional development needs. Congratulations and a big thanks to all the chairs and committees of the four successful regional conferences held in March.

Summer Institutes

Plan now to arrange for teams or individuals from your institution to attend. Two events provide a choice of locations and dates: Kansas City (June 28-July 3) and New Orleans (July 26-31). A limited number of Wesley R. Habley Scholarships are available.

2009 Annual Conference - Registration Fee Freeze!

Hotel reservations and Conference registrations are now being accepted. To assist you with budget concerns, Conference registration fees reflect 2008 prices.

Our thanks to Jo Anne Huber, the Annual Conference Program Chair, and her committee on their fine work on the Call for Proposals. Persons who submitted a proposal will hear from NACADA in early April.

2nd Annual NACADA Silent Auction

Donations are being accepted now! All proceeds from the auction will be used to fund NACADA region conference scholarships for graduate students.

NACADA Emerging Leaders Program

Are you interested in becoming involved in NACADA's exciting Emerging Leaders Program? Applications for the 2009-2011 class for both Leaders and Mentors must be submitted by April 1.

• Submit a Wesley R. Habley Summer Institute Scholarship application for either of the 2009 Summer Institutes by May 1.
• NACADA would like to recognize individuals who receive campus awards in 2009 for outstanding academic advising (faculty or full-time) or advising administration.

• Division Representative Election Results: Congratulations to David Spight, University of Texas at Austin, who has been elected as Commission & Interest Group Division Representative (2009-2011). David previously served as Chair of the Undecided & Exploratory Students Commission (2006-2008).

• Get involved with Commissions and Interest Groups. Select up to a total of four commissions and/or interest groups of your choice!

• List serves have been created for the new Potential Interest Groups:

  Advising Second-Year Students and Advising at Historically Black Colleges & Universities

• NACADA/Kansas State University online Master in Academic Advising degree.
