The Call for Proposals submission system is open until February 16. Please consider submitting a presentation proposal for the 2010 Annual Conference, Academic Advising: The Fast Pass to Student Success to be held October 3-6 at the Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World, Fla.

Future Events

Region Conferences logo  Submit your presentation proposal for the 2010 Region Conferences now! See the Region Conference Schedule for dates and proposal submission time lines. Graduate Student Regional Conference Scholarships are available to provide student members the opportunity to attend a Regional Conference - apply by January 29.

Consider attending a Research Symposium at Region 4 or Region 2. Additionally, Regions 3 and 8 are planning Technology Seminars.


Summer Institute logo  2010 Summer Institute - take your pick! Plan to attend Summer Institute in St. Louis, June 27-July 2 or in Philadelphia, August 1-6. Wesley R. Habley Summer Institute Scholarships are available. Apply before the May 3 due date!

Advising Student-Athletes: A Model for Academic Success Seminar

This seminar scheduled for Sunday, June 27 in St. Louis will provide the framework to assist academic advisors in creating academic plans that focus on student success and persistence to graduation while addressing the various issues facing student-athletes.

  • On many campuses January brings a new academic term and influx of transfer students. Let the transfer student resources in the Clearinghouse help you meet the needs of these students.

NACADA Research Grants for up to $5,000 are available. Apply by March 15, for consideration for 2010 funding.

Add your research topic to the NACADA Research Registry and connect with other researchers.


Looking for an inexpensive way to expand your professional horizons? Review a book for the NACADA Journal. NACADA members may review one book each member year.

NACADA leadership elections are slated for February 2010. Review the slate of candidates and voting information, including voting process and eligibility notes.

NOTE: Only those individuals whose NACADA memberships are current and paid in full as of Friday, January 29, will be eligible to vote in the 2010 elections.


Awards Program star logoThe deadline to submit a NACADA Award Nomination for most award categories is March 1. Please carefully review the applicable information in the 2010 Awards Call before submitting your final nomination materials.


The NACADA Academic Advising Consultants and Speakers Service is recruiting keynote speakers, workshop presenters and evaluators interested in visiting campuses on behalf of NACADA. Submit an application by January 31.


NACADA and Kansas State University offer an online Master of Science Degree & Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising.


Welcome to Holly Martin, University of Notre Dame, who recently took over as Chair of the Advising First-Year Students Interest Group, replacing Laura Mooney who served as Chair from 2007-09.
