Leadership Program Leader Information
NOTE: The NACADA Leadership Program is currently
being reviewed and changes are being discussed for revamping this
program. Once a new leadership program has been developed and is
ready for implementation, this web page will be updated and the
link to the leader form reactivated if applicable. Thank you for
your interest in this program.
Who:
Association leaders, with prior Board or Leadership experience,
invited by the Board of Directors to serve based upon their knowledge,
experience, past involvement in Association activities, and their
desire to participate in this program.
Expectations:
- Initiate contact with assigned participants
and maintain contact year-round. (Executive Office will provide
reminders and suggestions for some of these contacts).
- Introduce program participants to known
contacts relevant to their leadership interests.
- Coach participants on procedures for
getting involved with the Association.
- Brief participants on Association issues
and background of issues.
- Encourage Association involvement at
reasonable level.
- Nominate candidates for leadership positions.
- Refer participants to appropriate Association
resources.
- Guide participants at regional and national
conferences.
- Serve as a consistent key contact person.
- Make an initial one-year commitment
to the program.

Networking
Opportunities:
- E-mail lists have been established
for leaders and program participants to discuss current Association
issues and provide a history of past discussions.
- An orientation session during the national
conference will provide an opportunity for networking and a face-to-face
meeting of leaders and program participants.
- Regional conferences will be encouraged
to provide a networking opportunity for program participants.
