Track
The Foundational Track
is designed for participants interested in an introduction to
assessment in academic advising in order to move toward developing
a comprehensive assessment plan for their campuses. The activities
of the Foundational Track will guide participants through the
assessment cycle, beginning with the development of a mission
statement for academic advising. The Foundational Track should
be selected by participants if at least 3 of the following apply

mission statement for academic advising that clearly defines
the purpose and values of academic advising across the institution
and drives all professional development as well as assessment
planning
- Advising Administrators and advising professionals
on campus do not have a clear understanding of
the definition, purpose, and process of assessment
as a means of enhancing student learning
- Institution does not have clearly articulated goals for academic
advising across the institution
- Institution may have clearly articulated delivery outcomes
but only utilize student satisfaction surveys as a means of
assessment
- Institution does not have clearly articulated student learning
outcomes that identify what students should know, be able to
do or demonstrate, or appreciate due to the advising experience
- Institution does not clearly have a plan for mapping the
achievement and assessment of delivery outcomes and/or student
learning outcomes
- Institution has not developed a system of utilizing multiple
measures for assessment of any articulated delivery or student
learning outcomes.
