1 — Final decisions for 2009 Service
to Commission Awards due to Executive Office.
Notifications and public announcements will be made shortly
thereafter.

8 — Abstract for annual conference
program (135 words or less), outlining
agenda and/or discussion topics for the annual fall meeting
of your respective commission or interest group, is
due to Rhonda Baker, baker@ksu.edu.
Conference staff will contact you soon with additional details
on these abstracts.

8 — Final abstract for HOT TOPIC session
(135 words or less) is due to Rhonda Baker,
baker@ksu.edu. Describe
hot topic to be presented/discussed, including CHANGES to
title and/or presenter(s) if different from that originally
submitted. Conference staff will contact you soon with additional

ANNOUNCEMENTS, LINKS, AND SUGGESTIONS --
- San
Antonio Hotel Reservations: Be sure to make
your hotel reservations as soon as possible for the annual conference
in San Antonio this fall. Visit www.nacada.ksu.edu/AnnualConf/2009/hotelinstructions.htm
for hotel reservation information.
- NOTE:
If you will not be able to attend the annual conference in
San Antonio due to recent travel budget cuts or other reasons,
please contact Julia Wolf (jqwolf@ksu.edu)
as soon as possible. The Executive Office will also need to
know the name of the individual who will be handling your
Chair responsibilities during the conference in your absence,
including the CIGD Fair and your annual commission or interest
group meeting. Thank you.

CIGD Division meeting: Tuesday,
September 29th, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Attendance
at this meeting is required for both current and incoming
Commission Chairs, and optional for Interest Group and Potential
Interest Group Chairs.

TO STRETCH TRAVEL FUNDING: Be sure to read
the article “Professional Development
on a Budget” by Scott
Amundsen and Les
Ridingin in the June 2009 issue of AAT (www.nacada.ksu.edu/AAT/NW32_2.htm#18).
Scott and Les share “tried and true” tips for increasing the chances
of attending off-campus professional development opportunities
on the institution’s dime. Perhaps some of these tips will help
plan for your travel to San Antonio this fall.

for this year? Contact Victor, Jennifer, your CIGD Steering Committee
representative, or me if you need assistance with these activities.
- Chairs
are encouraged to summarize the
responses to interesting and helpful list serve discussions,
and forward them to Julia for posting to the applicable unit web
pages.
