Summary
of Annual Meeting at National Conference:
Forty
(40) commission members attended the meeting at the 2003 National
Conference in Dallas. Outgoing Chair, Heidi Koring, announced
that the Advisor Training and Development Commission is among
the largest NACADA commissions, with over 1000 members. She noted
that over 90 sessions at the conference were assigned to the Training
and Development track, including four "Best of Region" sessions.
Koring highlighted the following commission accomplishments:
- Very
active contribution to the Advisor Training and Development
monograph;
- Active
input into the creation of the advisor certification program
at KSU;
- Ongoing
input and participation in the development of an advisor training
video;
- Active
participation/consultation with the advisor certification
task force;
- Active
involvement of steering committee in choosing sessions for
conference, planning commission fair participation, and development
of web page.
Koring
solicited feedback from members present to determine initiatives
for the 2003-2004 year. These are outlined in items 3 and 4 below.

volunteers will be recruited.
