In
a 2011 survey, average salaries for full-time academic
advisors were reported on national basis on a College University
Professional Association for Human Resources survey. Statistics
from this survey can be found in the March 21, 2011 edition
of The Chronicle.

- In July 2005 1425 NACADA
members responded to a survey asking full-time academic advisors
a series of questions regarding their
job satisfaction. In one portion of the survey, advisors were
asked to indicate their salaries, years of experience and NACADA
region. Over time we have discovered that while everyone
wants to know, few are willing to actually respond when asked
to fill their exact salary. Therefore the NACADA asks salary questions
within a range.
The
national average salary reported in this 2005 survey was $35,000
- 39,999. National median (1/2 way point) reported was also $35,000
- 39,999. A word of caution for those viewing these charts, while
this survey may establish trends within the profession, it is
representative only for those choosing to answer the survey; it
was not gathered from every full-time professional academic advisor.
