Multicultural Concerns Commission News and Updates
NOTE:
This email was sent to commission members on January 10, 2005.
TO:
Multicultural Concerns Commission Members
FROM: Tina McNamara, Commission Chair
Date: January 10, 2005
Hello
all! I hope 2005 has gotten off to a good start for you.
The
NACADA Office has asked all of the Commission Chairs to solicit
volunteers to read National Conference Proposals that in some way
address the theme of a particular Commission. If
you would be available to read proposals for the Multicultural Concerns
Commission, please let me know by Wednesday,
JANUARY 19. Reviews will take place February
9-22. Last year, our Commission received 13 proposals.
I
would also like to encourage you to consider volunteering to be
a reader for another Commission. One of the concerns discussed at
our Commission meeting in Cincinnati was that multicultural issues
are not addressed in many conference presentations. Perhaps we could
work to change that. You can let me know if you would like to read
for a different Commission, and I will forward your name to the
appropriate chair.
Another
way to get involved, of course, is to submit
a conference proposal yourself! The
deadline is Tuesday, FEBRUARY 8.
For more information, including a tutorial for writing effective
proposals that will help guide you through the process, visit the
NACADA web site at www.nacada.ksu.edu/2005proposals/tutorial.htm.
Thanks
in advance for your help!
