Advising Administration Commission Members
From: Linda Chalmers, Chair
My
Dear Colleagues,
It
is with mixed emotions that I am writing you about tendering my
resignation today as your Commission Chair. I am joining the corporate
world and leaving my institution as of March 13 for a position that
will allow me to further grow and be of service to higher education
as a technology consultant.
I
am so very proud to have served this 2000+ commission that I am
almost speechless. We have accomplished much together during the
past 17 months through the “information highway” and
at the national conferences. Although I was unable to attend regional
conferences, I feel sure that many of you carried our mission of
networking and professional growth to those events. The bonds are
boundless.
It
is my pleasure to pass the reins to Cindy
Iten from the University of Kentucky. Cindy
has been elected Chair for the 2006-2008 term, and
she has graciously agreed to complete my term. She has
served on this commission’s steering committee for several
years and knows much about this commission. I know she will continue
the work we have started and bring some new perspectives and ideas
to the “table”.
I
have given the Executive Office my home e-mail address should I
be needed for any closing details or if any of you wishes to contact
me. The staff members are very professional, caring, and supportive.
I will miss them as well as you.
Also,
never forget that without “U”,
we cannot spell S-U-C-C-E-S-S.
This is your commission, and it is strong and vital because each
of you contributes toward the collective “U”. Take special
care of yourselves, your advisors, and, most of all, your students.
With
warmest regards,
Linda
