Spring is on it's way, and that means there is lots going on in the world of advising. Regional Conferences are underway, presentation proposals for the national conference are being read, and awards nominations are due on MARCH 7. If you have not already done so, now is the time to nominate a colleague who has gone above and beyond in the field of advising. We all like to be recognized for our achievements, and what better way to say "job well done" than by nominating someone for a NACADA award? This year we would also like to give a Service to Commission Award for the Faculty Advisors Commission. Do you know someone who has given a lot to the commission and is deserving of this award? To view the criteria for the Service to Commission Award, visit the NACADA web site at www.nacada.ksu.edu/Awards/CService_Guidelines.htm and nominate someone today! Nominations are due APRIL 1.

And now for a bit of exciting news--we are about to launch our Who's Who Among Faculty Advisors web page. This page is dedicated to recognizing our colleagues who do an outstanding job in working with their advisees. It is a way to showcase their philosophy of advising, best practices, helpful hints, or whatever they want to share about advising with their fellow faculty advisors. For each submission, we are asking for a digital photo and a personal statement, including brief biographical information. You can submit your own info or that of a colleague. Please send this information to me at stockwel@fvtc.edu. NACADA membership is not required for this recognition -- we simply want to spread the word about all of the good things that are going on in faculty advising on college campuses across the country.
