Jane Astor embodies the true meaning of an advisor and advocate for students at Pikes Peak Community College. Her advocacy and insightfulness in involving her students in the decision-making process encourages students to develop ownership over their educational experience at the College. Jane's involvement with the student Social Work Club has provided additional opportunities to advise and guide students in the social work field.

Jane has been chosen as the Faculty Advisor of the Year for Career and Technical Programs. However, she actually works with students not only in the Associate of Applied Science for Social Service Technician program, but also in the Associate of Arts Social Work Transfer program. For many students, it is Jane's careful guidance that helps them to determine which of these two educational paths is the best fit for their career and life goals.
