Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered and Allies Concerns (LGBTA) Commission
Colleague
on Call Program
Do
you have a quick question about LGBTQ issues for a colleague? Do
you ever wish you could connect with a Commission member when working
with a student who identifies as lesbian or gay, or is struggling
with identity issues?
The
LGBTA Concerns Commission is available to assist you through their
new program “Colleague on Call”. This program is
designed to offer a referral resource for advisors and administrators
across the country who have a quick question or need a reliable
referral.
How
does it work? NACADA colleagues simply need to contact Jennifer
Joslin, 2006-2008 Commission Chair, at jjoslin@uoregon.edu
with their question. Jennifer will consult a list of LGBTA Commission
members and route the question to an available colleague for a quick
response or referral. This program is a simple way to connect with
a colleague who is willing to give their time to assist you and
your student.
Over
time, responses will be catalogued on the LGBTA Concerns Commission
web site for future referral – a living FAQ!
