An outline of the monograph
is forthcoming. The monograph group met while everyone
else was doing web

D. Action Team Chairs

for feedback and volunteers to serve on a steering committee for
the Commission
E. Commission Fair
*This year, the planning
committee for the national conference, included a Commission and
Interest Group Fair
on the agenda. Each commission and interest group had a table
and
presented information
on their commission. The ATS Commission passed out notepads
and signed people up
for the list serve. Larry Ottinger (Region 5), Caron Daugherty (Region
7), and Donna Ziel
(Region 9) helped Kristin man the table. Over 200 people stopped
by
for information and
to sign up for the list serve.
II. Region Updates
A. Region Roundtables a success!
* Nine out of the ten
regions of NACADA held roundtable sessions led by the Commission
Liaisons to the Regions.
Most of them were very well attended and all had lively discussions
of the issues that
we deal with as advisors to transfer students.
B. Issues that came up in the regions:
* A need for a directory
of transfer advisors (this will go on the web page)
* Expert Resources
or "Best Practices" section for web page
* A need for better
communication between 2 and 4 year schools
* Articulation or transfer
workshops
* More time for collaboration
and ANSWERS!
III. Action Teams

* Transfer Student
Orientation/ Transition Programs
* Technological Resources
* Transfer Student
Groups with Special Needs
* Assessment of Transfer
Student Issues
* Discipline Based
Transfer Student Advising
IV. Web Site Ideas
A summary of the group
notes from the web site brainstorming will go out on the list serve
and posted here, once it is finished.
