Dear ESL/ International Student Advising Commission Members:

Happy New Year! My name is Lizette Bartholdi and I am the Commission Chair for the ESL and International Student Advising Commission. This is my first e-mail sent to the commission as the new Commission Chair. Please look for other e-mails from me to solicit ideas and information about the Commission.

As you may know, the deadline for submitting proposals to present at the National NACADA Conference 2005 (in Las Vegas!) is fast approaching — the deadline is February 8th. This is a new Commission with very diverse interests. I would love to see more Commission sponsored proposals at this year’s national conference. If you have any questions regarding the Commission or unsure if what you would like to submit is related, please e-mail me. I would enjoy hearing from you. For more information on the Call for Proposals, including a tutorial, visit the NACADA web site at www.nacada.ksu.edu/NationalConf/2005/index.htm.

I am also writing to seek volunteers to read proposals that are marked for the ESL/International Student Advising Commission. Don’t worry -- this is not a huge task. Last year we only had 5 Commission-sponsored proposals at the national conference. Please consider this as a quick
way to get involved with NACADA and the Commission. The deadline for submitting names of readers is very soon – January 21st.
