Dear ESL/International Student Advising Commission Members

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as interim chair for the ESL & International Student Advising Commission until October 2004. I work at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus, as an academic advisor for immigrant/refugee students and a former international student myself. I hope during my short appointed time, I can contribute to this commission as much as possible.

On that note, I would like to propose several things that we need to start working on. When we gathered in Dallas, TX in October 2003, Patrick Slowinski, former chair, suggested to form partnership with TESOL and NAFSA. I would like to call for volunteers to take this initiative.

Also, we need 2 volunteers to serve on our steering committee for Communications/Membership and Publications.
