ESL/International Student Advising Commission News and Updates
NOTE:
This e-mail was sent to commission members on February 24, 2004.
TO:
ESL/International Student Advising Commission Members
FROM: Patrick Slowinski, Commission Chair
Dear
ESL/International Student Advising Commission Members,
Recently,
I accepted a position with the US Government in Virginia, and as
a result, I have resigned my position as an international student
academic program specialist at Brigham Young University. I will
be moving to Virginia from Utah (by car!!!) on March 2,2004.
In
addition, I have sent a letter to NACADA indicating that I must
also resign my position as the newly elected ESL/International Student
Advising Commission Chair. Dr. Megumi Yamasaki has agreed to serve
as interim chair until October 2004. Megumi is an experienced
international advisor and is dedicated to NACADA and this commission.
I
am very grateful to all of you who have expressed interest in building
this newly-formed commission. Clearly, there are many issues concerning
ESL and international students, which NACADA deem crucial.
I
wish you all success in all your endeavors, and thank you for all
the support I received as Interest Group and Commission Chair.
Sincerely,
Patrick
T. Slowinski
