About Us

The Faculty Advising Commission is a group of colleagues with an interest in the important role faculty can play in advising students at all levels of higher education.  We welcome members regardless of advising experience, position title, institutional affiliation or academic discipline.  If you’re a faculty advisor, want to be a faculty advisor or interact with faculty advisors, please join us!

News / Updates

The Faculty Advising Commissions working on one core project for the 2015-2016 academic year. With the support of the NACADA executive office, we are reviewing and revising A Faculty Guide to Academic Advising. Our project team includes: David Boose (Gonzaga University), Allison Hoffmann (Northwest Missouri State University), Robert Alexander (Nicholls State University), and Kristan Venegas (University of Southern California). Please check back here for updates in May 2016.

Goals / Objectives

The Commission’s goals for the 15/16 academic year include:

  • Continue ongoing member involvement in commission activities
  • Utilize social media effectively to promote dialogue about faculty advising
  • Updating the Faculty Guide to Academic Advising
