NACADA. In addition, I will make a commitment to two efforts
for our region. First, to support providing development
opportunities for advisors at all higher education institutions
in the region at affordable prices. Second, I will promote
efforts to improve the status of our profession. I will work to
accomplish these two efforts through the following:
I. Providing affordable development for all advisors
A. Promote the concept of continuous
improvement
B. Collect member preferences and needs
for development
C. Connect with state organizations to
utilize all resources available
D. Commit to being financially responsible
when selecting site with budget concerns of institutions in mind
II. Promote efforts to improve status of the advising profession
A. Promote professional recognition
1. Encourage
state, local and regional submissions for awards at all levels
2. Encourage
state, local and regional press releases of honors and development
received
3. Improve relationships
with state Departments of Education and/or Regents Boards
B. Promote personal growth of advisors

to participate, present and encourage others in advising development
