Platform Statement:
NACADA Commissions and Interest Groups provide a terrific opportunity
for academic advisors to network with others who have similar
job responsibilities and/or interests on their respective campuses.
As NACADA transitions into a new organizational structure, we
must not lose sight of what roles Commissions and Interest Groups
play in the overall success of NACADA.
I have been fortunate to be a part of the team who created the
new Commission/Interest Group Division guidelines and structure.
I believe my experience being involved in this process has helped
me understand the importance and significance of our Division.
I am committed to providing leadership as we progress even further
in our development as a Division, and as NACADA in general.
As our advising roles become more complex, I believe we must
maintain a structure that allows academic advisors to have timely,
accurate access to information and resources provided by all Commissions
and Interest Groups. While we must maintain a standard of
excellence in meeting needs of advisors, we must also maintain
our flexibility to meet the changing needs advisors will face
in the future.
My NACADA and professional experience and commitment has provided
me with the skills and knowledge needed to fulfill the role of
Commission/Interest Groups Division Representative.
