Statement:
I
am truly honored and so pleased to accept the nomination for Chair
of the North Central Region 6 of NACADA. The spirit in which I accept
this nomination includes a strong belief that leadership and service
go hand in hand. During my years of involvement in NACADA, I have
seen the association get stronger and more responsive to its members'
needs. This is no more evident than with the new leadership structure
and the additional support at the Regional and State level. The
call has been made and answered for additional response to our members
at a local level.
The
current Region 6 goals of providing methods for regional and state-wide
members to receive support and information locally, is one of the
most important things we can do, and if elected, I will continue
to ensure this is a reality. With the tightening of budgets on all
of our campuses, it is critical that we find innovative ways to
serve the needs of the membership. I will work hard to continue
our regional goals of providing drive-in conferences, web-site and
list-serve development for greater communication, and increased
Regional membership. Additionally, I believe that I have the experience
to effectively seek and communicate our regional needs, goals, and
ideas to the national leadership.
