Platform
Statement:
I
have found those involved with NACADA to be a great source of
information and support so it is with honor that I accept the
nomination for North Central Region 6 Chair.
Professional
development is important to improve our service to students. I
will work to continue to provide and to create additional professional
development opportunities through NACADA. With institutional budget
reductions, it is important to provide these opportunities at
regional and state levels. More drive-in conferences within Region
6 increases development opportunities and may have the additional
benefit of increasing our membership since a local event may be
an avenue to draw new members to NACADA.
Economics
also affect students who are increasingly beginning their studies
at one institution, often community colleges, and transferring
to another. For this reason, I believe that it is important to
improve communication and increase collaboration between institutions.
As
Region 6 Chair, I represent you so I would ask for your support
in this. Please feel free to inform me about your concerns and
ideas so that I may pass them on appropriately. In return, I will
communicate information from others in NACADA to you and do my
best to represent our region well.
