Platform
Statement:
Multicultural
concerns are not just the concerns of those of us on this Commission.
Every academic advisor needs to be aware of and sensitive to the
needs of all students. As a result, the Multicultural Concerns Commission
can provide important leadership for the members of NACADA on dealing
with issues of diversity. I would like to see us establish a website
to highlight "best practices" and to continue to use the
N-MCC and ACADV e-mail lists to discuss issues related to working
with under-represented students.
During
my ten years as an advisor and a member of NACADA, I have enjoyed
presenting at state, regional, and national conferences. I am very
excited and honored by the prospect of serving as Chair of the Multicultural
Concerns Commission.
