Platform
Statement:
NACADA
continues to grow in membership, and I believe the new organizational
structure has allowed maturation as a professional association.
As president of the NACADA Board of Directors, I would work to continue
that maturation by promoting decision-making at the most appropriate
levels of NACADA. I would encourage the appropriate support for
those decisions, whether it is in the Executive Office or a sub-committee
of a geographic region.
Communication
will only grow in importance as we become more diversified. It will
be important for the Board to foster good communication throughout
the Association, and to focus our attention on items, issues, and
opportunities that will advance the mission of NACADA, using the
strategic plan as a guide and as a measuring stick.
If
elected as President of the NACADA Board, I would pledge to use
my experience in fostering imaginative thinking about the possibilities
of the future to set an environment where the Board can do its best
work.
