Statement:
Over
the last five years I have enjoyed the professional development
opportunities that NACADA provides. Until recently, I have not
had the availability to be involved with NACADA leadership. I
have, however held numerous leadership positions both professionally
and within my community, the most recent being the Student and
Financial Aid Team Lead during the implementation of a new administrative
computer system at Weber State
University
.
My
goals for the 2004 - 2006 cycle include: 1) promotion of NACADA
as a professional development resource, 2) supporting holistic
student development through collaboration of advising and other
student services, and 3) increase NACADA membership throughout
the Rocky Mountain Region. In order to accomplish these goals,
I will establish and work with a Region X advisory board to establish
networking goals within each home institution and within each
state.
By
developing an understanding of each institution and each state's
advisor networks, NACADA can better establish its professional
development and advisor support capabilities. I will also work
toward a presentation track at conferences that support goals
one and two. NACADA membership increases support overall advisor
networking capabilities, further enhancing the personal and professional
development of individual advisors.
