Platform
Statement:
- Highlight
your involvement in this unit that will help you in leading this
unit. What roles have you played in this unit thus far?
I
have been an active participant in the commission meetings at
the national conference. I feel that this participation gives
me insight into the issues that many members of the commission
are interest in pursing.
- What
do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives for
this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and
the Association?
I would like to see the commission continue to monitor and report
on legislative activities that impact transfer issues. I would
like to see the commission when needed provide input to NACADA's
leaders so they can address concerns to those making legislative
changes.
I also believe it is important that we continue to work with other
professional organization or programs related to the issue of
student transfer. I would like to see the commission continue
to work with these groups to develop a better understanding of
student transfer
-
Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position
or what influenced you to run for this leadership position?
Currently
the topic of transfer has received a great deal of interest from
various groups within and without higher education. As professionals
it is important that we recognize this interest and continue to
educate ourselves and our colleagues on the issue of transfer
so that we can provide accurate and useful information to our
students and to those outside of higher education that want to
understand the topic. The reason I am interested in serving as
the commission chair is to help serve as a conduit to the sharing
of information on this interesting topic.
- Provide
any additional comments or information regarding your past experiences
and qualifications that relate to your candidacy for this leadership
position.
