Statement:
Highlight
your previous involvement within this unit that will help
you in leading this unit. What roles have you played within
this particular unit as a member thus far? |
I serve as the academic assessment resource for scholarly issues for the college including both advisors and faculty in all degree programs, and routinely review portfolios, advise, and assist mentors in degree program planning. I also coordinate the prior learning assessment process, train prior learning assessment faculty, and part time mentors.
In addition, I manage center/program assessment, portfolio review, and degree program reconciliation processes as well as provide one-on-one academic support assistance for students identified or self-identified as "academically at-risk" at C.D.L as a volunteer facilitator.
What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives
for this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and
the Association?
I have worked in a wide range of positions in different colleges so I have a well rounded perspective on academic advising. I believe the most important goal is to have a community of educators that can share information to increase awareness about the importance to an institution about advising.
Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or
what influenced you to run for this leadership position?
I am interested in serving because I believe strongly in helping those in the academic advising community.
Provide any additional comments or information (either
personal or leadership-related) that you want potential voters to know about you that is not covered
elsewhere in your platform information.
