Building and Supporting a Research Agenda within the Scholarship of Advising
February 5-6, 2018
Daytona Beach, Florida
This interactive 2-day seminar brings primary role advisors, faculty advisors, and advising administrators together to explore new and continuing lines of inquiry within the scholarship of advising. Participants will select one of two tracks for their work.
The Research Project Track is for individuals or teams who want to develop (or further plan) the scope of an evidence-based research study. This track is perfect for collaborative teams (faculty advisors and primary role advisors, interdisciplinary teams, or cross-institutional teams) to jump-start a research project.
The Supporting a Research Agenda Track is for academic administrators who are interested developing the structures and organizational elements to encourage and support advising-related scholarship on their campus. This track is especially designed for advising program leaders who want to build or strengthen a culture of “scholarly advising” across their areas of responsibility.
All participants will be enrolled into a Canvas “program site” for ongoing support and collaboration, including opportunities for virtual writing groups.
