It’s coming up very quickly, just like the snow!
Be sure to send in your registration for the 5th Annual NACADA Montana State Drive In Conference to be held on the University of Montana Western’s campus in lovely Dillon, Montana October 23, 2009! The conference will begin with check in at 8:00 am and the program starts at 8:30am. We should conclude the wonderful day by 4:00 pm.
Coming together as advisors gives us all the chance to hear others’ challenges and successes. We each have something to contribute and this conference will be a great way to share our expertise.
Our conference title is Strands of Diversity: It’s Not Just One Thing! We will be exploring all kinds of diversity, from age to economics, disabilities, cultural, and any other form of the diverse students we all advise. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Judy Ulrich, who will give us insight into perceived cultural differences. Afterward we will have a presentation of our own “culturally diverse” population with a presentation from our Polynesian Club. Don’t miss it!
You can access the registration form at http://nacada.ksu.edu/Events/Conferences/State/upcoming.htm and then fax it to Margo Heberling, University of Montana Western at 406-683-7809. Conference attendees who are members of NACADA have a discounted rate for the conference. If you are not a member be sure to join and receive the discount. You can become a member using the website at http://nacada.ksu.edu/Membership/index.htm
What else do we have in store for you? Thursday night is a special night if you are in town before the conference. Join us at the Patagonia Outlet here in Dillon to take advantage of an evening of shopping open just for us! After the shopping, where you might want to pick up some warm socks and gloves, Tom Satterly will be presenting a great Evening with the Stars. Tom shares his expansive knowledge of the solar system by giving us a Stargazing event. We will be traveling just south of campus to view the stars!
An exciting event will take place and we know you don’t want to miss it! Sign up today!
