There are two area airports - driving directions from each are below:

From Norfolk - ORF: Take I-64 East to I-264 West. Take Downtown Tunnel, stay in right lane, take 1st exit (#7) immediately, sharp turn right to Crawford Street. Take a right on Water Street. The hotel is on the left.

From Newport News/Williamsburg - PHF: Depart the airport and take 64 West. Follow 64 West to 664 South. After traveling through the tunnel, take 164 East to Portsmouth. After 8 miles, continue to follow 164 East to London Blvd. Take London east...London dead ends into the hotel.

From North (Washington, DC):

Start out going East on Constitution Ave NW/US-50 toward 15th Street NW. Turn Right onto US-1 S/14th Street NW. Continue to follow US-1 S (Crossing into Virginia). US-1 S becomes I-395 S. I-395 S becomes I-95 S. Merge onto I-295 S via Exit 84A on the Left toward Rocky Mt NC. Merge onto I-64 E via Exit 28A toward Norfolk/VA Beach. Merge onto I-664 S/Hampton Roads Belt via Exit 264 toward Downtown/Newport News/Suffolk/Chesapeake. Merge onto VA-164 E via Exit 9 toward Portsmouth. Take the US-58 W exit on the Left toward Downtown Portsmouth. Turn slight right onto US-58 W/Martin Luther King Fwy. Take the VA-141 S ramp toward Naval Shipyard/Naval Hospital/Downtown. From South (Raleigh, NC):

Start out going East on E South St toward S Wilmington St. Turn Right onto S Blount St. S Blount St becomes Hammond Rd. Merge onto I-40 E/I-440 E/US-64 E. From West (Blacksburg, VA):

Start out going Southeast on US-460 BR/N Main St toward Roanoke St W. Turn Left onto Ellett Rd. Ellett Rd becomes Cedar Run Rd. Turn Left onto Jennelle Rd. Turn Right onto Den Hill Rd. From East (Houston, TX) - using Highway 290 West:

Take 290 W toward Austin. Once in Austin, take IH-35 south ramp to downtown. Exit 8th Street. Turn right on 8th Street. Continue 3 blocks on 8th Street to San Jacinto. Cross San Jacinto and the hotel entrance is on the left.

From East (Houston, TX) - using Highway 71:

Take Highway 71 West to I-35 N toward Austin. Once downtown, take the 6th-12 Street exit. Turn left under IH-35 8th Street. Continue 3 blocks on 8th Street to San Jacinto. Cross San Jacinto and the hotel entrance is on the left.

From West - using Loop 1 South:

Exit 5th Street (will loop back under highway). Follow 5th Street to Trinity. Turn left on Trinity. Turn left on 8th Street. The hotel entrance is a few blocks up on the left.

From West - using Loop 1 North:

Ground Transportation: Carey Transportation’s airport connection service is offering Institute attendees a discount group rate of $24 for the first person with a $5 companion fare for each additional person each way to/from the airport. Once you have claimed your luggage, proceed to their booth which is located outside door # 3 from Baggage Claim. Several taxi companies operate from the airport to the hotel. The approximate rate is $25.
