HIGHLIGHTS AT-A-GLANCE
2004 AWARDS CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Would you like to recognize a colleague who has done a great job with academic advising on your campus?  Does your campus have an outstanding advising program currently being implemented?  Are you planning to submit an award nomination, but just haven't done so yet?  The deadline for NACADA to receive of all required nomination materials and support documentation for most award categories is Monday, March 8, 2004That's only a little more than a week away!   NACADA must receive the nomination materials by this date.

The NACADA Awards Program would be a great avenue for increasing the visibility of advising on your campus.  The 2004 Call for Awards Nominations, including nomination/application criteria, deadlines and forms, is available online at http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Awards/AwardsCall.htm.   If you have any questions, contact NACADA at nacada@ksu.edu or call (785) 532-5717.

2004 CALL FOR RESEARCH GRANT PROPOSALS

Looking for outside funding sources for research on academic advising?  Go to http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Awards/Grants.htm for submission guidelines.  Final research grant applications are due to NACADA by June 7, 2004.  Please share this funding source with academic researchers on your campus!

2004 RETIREE RECOGNITION

Retiree recognition forms are available at http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Awards/Retiree.htm.   If you know of a colleague who retired during the past academic year or has plans to retire during the upcoming academic year, and you wish to recognize him/her at the fall national conference, please complete the form at the above web site and submit it to the NACADA Executive Office by June 7, 2004.

REGIONAL CONFERENCES

NACADA Regional Conferences begin in March with Regions 10, 2, 4, and 1.  It's not too late to register and attend these conferences or Regions 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 in April and Region 7 in May!!  Registrations are rolling in -- join your colleagues in your Region this Spring!

In addition to other excellent preconference workshops at several of the Region Conferences, NACADA will have an Academic Advising Administrators' Preconference in all 10 Regions this year.  This is a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable information and network with other administrators in your region -- Register today!

2004 NATIONAL CONFERENCE

Visit the web site at http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/NationalConf/2004/index.htm for information on the 2004 National Conference in Cincinnati, OH.  A conference registration form can be printed from the web site.  If you are fortunate enough to have money left in this year's budget, consider registering now.  Over 450 presentation proposals were submitted for the October 6-9 event, assuring that there will be sessions focusing on a wide range of advising issues. 

Hotel information is also on the web. Reservations can be made over the Internet, with immediate confirmation.  There are five conference hotels, all within three blocks of the Convention Center.  If you are interested in sharing accommodations in order to save money, there is a form at the web site to facilitate finding a roommate. 

CONSULTANTS BUREAU

The Consultants Bureau provides consultants to assist doing a complete evaluation of an institution's advising programs and services and making recommendations for possible reorganization or restructuring.   This service, as well as providing keynote speakers and/or workshop speakers, is provided at a very reasonable cost for NACADA members and their institutions.  For more information contact Charlie Nutt, Associate Director, at cnutt@ksu.edu or go to http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Consultants_Bureau/index.htm.
