an Advising Web Site. Adapted from a NACADA National Conference
presentation by George Steele, Ohio Learning Network and Melinda McDonald,
Ohio State University, this Critical Advising Issue overview
provides advisors with a better understanding of basic Web site design.
Thinking about designing a new web page
this summer? This overview can save you time and aggravation.
A FAMILY GUIDE
TO ACADEMIC ADVISING
"A Family Guide to Academic Advising"
will soon be released by the National Resource Center for the First-Year
Experience & Students in Transition in cooperation with NACADA.
The Guide provides an overview of what students might encounter
as they enter a higher education institution and the services that
are available to help them navigate the "systems".
Designed for distribution to families of
entering students, a sample copy is being mailed to each current
NACADA member along with an order form so that you might have them
available for distribution during summer orientation programs. Orders
can be placed with NACADA or the National Resource Center.
NACADA STRATEGIC
PLAN
The NACADA Board of Directors updated the
Vision and Mission statements for the Association during their March
meeting. The Board will now focus on prioritizing the Tasks proposed
to address the Mission Statements which are being solicited through
the Region, Commission, and Committee Chairs. The Board will make
budget recommendations based on a projected activity's "fit"
within the Strategic Plan. The Board will review the progress toward
the Plan annually.
