eligibility criteria, position overviews, and an
online nomination form. Nominations are due Friday,
Oct. 30, 2009, after which nominees will either accept or decline their nominations. The Nominating Committee will then finalize the slate of candidates. Voting will occur in February 2010. Stay tuned for more information next month!
NACADA
Research
Grants for up to $5,000 are available. Apply
by November 1,
2009, for consideration for the first round of 2010 funding. The next grant deadline is March 15.
The Summer Institute Management Team invites NACADA members who are interested in serving as faculty for the 2010 NACADA Summer Institutes to submit their interest via the NACADA Expertise Database by November 15, 2009.
Each year NACADA recognizes academic advising professionals making significant contributions to the advising field. The 2010 Awards Call for Nominations, including nomination forms, guidelines and criteria, is available online. All information and forms can be accessed on the NACADA Annual Awards Program website. The deadline for the receipt of nomination materials for most award categories is March 1, 2010. Award recipients will be honored at the NACADA Annual Conference in Orlando.
NACADA is pleased to announce the Leading Light Award to honor an influential and exemplary individual who has made significant contributions to diversity within the Association! This is an exciting opportunity to continue initiatives in support of The Global Community for Academic Advising. Guidelines and application for this award are available on the NACADA Awards Program website.
Congratulations to the Advising High Achieving Students Interest Group for being granted commission status recently at the 2009 fall leadership meetings in San Antonio, effective immediately. Marion Schwartz will serve as Interim Chair of the Advising High Achieving Students Commission, which will elect its first Chair in the 2010 elections to take office after the Annual Conference in Orlando next fall.
