2009 NACADA Annual Conference

- Deep in the Heart of Student Success

San Antonio Here We Come! The 2009 NACADA Annual Conference is just around the corner, and we are looking forward to seeing over 2,500 of you next week! With two outstanding keynote speakers, a book signing, exhibits, the common reading, silent auction, NACADA choir and more this conference is sure to be one of our best!

2010 Leadership Election Information is available including a list of positions to be elected, eligibility criteria, position overviews, and an online nomination form. Nominations are due Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. Your participation in the nomination process for these leadership positions is encouraged. Nomination information will also be available in the NACADA booth in the Exhibits area at the Annual Conference in San Antonio, as well as printed in the back of the Conference Program.

Following the Annual Conference in San Antonio, new NACADA Leaders will take office for the 2009-2010 leadership year. See a complete listing of the new leadership sorted by region.


Have you selected the topic for your thesis or dissertation? Are you doing advising research at your institution? The NACADA Research Registry connects colleagues researching a variety of topics related to the advising field. Sign up by using the registry form to be contacted by a member of the NACADA Research Committee regarding your study.


NACADA Research Grants for up to $5,000 are available. Apply by November 1, 2009, for consideration for 2010 funding.


Advising in the News: The University of Wisconsin’s The Cross-College Advising Service is featured in the September edition of the AAC&U News.


This November 15-17, CAS (Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education) will hold its second national symposium in Arlington, Va.  If you are engaged or interested in program review, assessment efforts, program self-study or the development of student learning and development outcomes this is a great learning opportunity.  Early Bird registration ends Sept. 30, and registration is limited to the first 300.  Additional conference information, including registration materials, can be found at the CAS website.


NACADA/Kansas State University offer online Master in Academic Advising degree.
