Group

Greetings
to the NACADA High School to College Advising Interest Group Members!
I
hope that you had a good holiday and that you are gearing up for
the end of the semester activities at your institution. I want to
introduce myself, Gaye Golter DiGregorio,
as the new chair of the NACADA High School to College Advising Interest
Group. Currently, I am the Interim Director of the Center for Advising
and Student Achievement at Colorado State University, and have been
involved with NACADA for over 20 years. I was one of the founding
members of this Interest Group and am looking foward to getting
involved once again.
At
the Annual NACADA Conference in Indy, the Interest Group had small
group discussions sharing existing programs and identifying issues
that need to be addressed when thinking about the
transition of high school students to college. A
summary of those discussions is posted on our IG
"News and Updates" web page.
I
am also in the process of creating
a list of programs focusing on high school students at colleges
and universities across the country
and invite you to participate. An example from the University of
Washington is posted on our IG "Resources"
web page to give you an idea of the format. Please submit your
summaries to me by the end of December at gaye.digregorio@colostate.edu.
Many
of you indicated interest in becoming a leader in the High School
to College Advising Interest Group and I will be contacting you
soon. If you did not get to attend the NACADA Conference and would
like to be more involved with this group, feel free to send me an
e-mail message indicating your interest. Please let me know if you
have any questions and I look foward to working with you in the
future.
