Pre-Law Advising Interest Group News and Updates

FROM: Julie Givans and Sandra Voller, Co-Chairs
Pre-Law
Interest Group Members,
We
have an exciting announcement: the
NACADA Pre-Law Advising Interest Group has added a listserv list to facilitate communication and networking among our members!
At
our Pre-Law Interest Group meeting at the NACADA national conference
in Cincinnati, those present overwhelmingly felt that a list serve
would be an invaluable tool for keeping in touch with those they
had met at the meeting, identifying and developing ideas for conference
proposals, and sharing our resources. We hope this resource will
provide you with new opportunities for networking and professional
development.
Remember,
too, the Pre-Law Advising Interest Group is for anyone who answers
how-to-get-into-law-school questions from students, whether that
is your primary role or just one of the many “hats”
you wear on campus. Thus, you should also feel free to use the list serve
to ask questions. Share those questions that stump you, and together
we can find the accurate information you want to pass on to your
students.
Some
people are wary of list serves, as in the past they have been overwhelmed
by a flood of e-mail on other list serves. At this point, we are
just beginning, so it is impossible to gauge how lively our list serve
will be, but as we are still one of the smaller interest groups,
I suspect you will not find the amount of e-mail burdensome.
So
please join, and help us get started! To
subscribe to the listserv list, just go to the NACADA
website at www.nacada.ksu.edu/list serve/C34.htm
and follow the directions.
We
look forward to hearing from you!
