There is a need to establish a NACADA Interest Group for Ph.D. students as there is currently no opportunity for NACADA members who are pursuing their Doctoral degrees to easily network. In order for Academic Advising to continue to grow as a profession, it is vital that research pertinent to the field continue to expand. This interest group would create a community for members who share scholarly and educational goals. It would enable Interest Group members to share resources and offer support. Encouraging and supporting members during the Doctoral process can only serve to better both NACADA and the Academic Advising profession.
