2007 Conference Highlights
The 2007 LACADA Conference was held on March 22-23, 2007 at the Hilton Towers in Lafayette . There were 93 participants. We had a wonderful time, with some members enjoying Cajun French music and food at the local Randoll's Restaurant. Some of the highlights of the conference were:
- Wine and cheese reception to welcome everyone and promote the theme of the conference: “Recipe for Success: Diversity Ingredients.”
- A variety of topics presented
- BEST IN STATE: “Cooking on All 4 Burners: A Recipe for Advising 4 Diverse Generations Effectively.” The presenters were all from Southeastern Louisiana University ; Krystal Hardison, Ellen Bush, Lorett Swank and Sharon Fife. Best in State winners receive a $100 to apply to the Regional Conference.
- A panel discussion on “Minority Persistence and Progression,” made up of educators and professional staff throughout the state.
