NACADA Council

The Council is comprised of representatives from the three Divisions plus the Vice President and the Executive Director. The Council receives recommendations from the Divisions, reviews them, and forwards prioritized recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Role
NACADA COUNCIL - receives recommendations from Divisions on policies, procedures, and programs to meet member needs and to advance the association. The Council members review these issues and either refers them back for further study or advances them to the Board with priority recommendations for implementation. The NACADA Council meets immediately preceding and/or during the National Conference each year.

Leadership:

  • The six Division Representatives, the Vice President, and the Executive Director comprise the NACADA Council.
  • The Vice President convenes the Council and leads its meetings.
  • The Vice President serves as a liaison to the Council to assure that the Board has full benefit of the discussions/issues as discussed by the Council and that the Council has the benefit of knowing the priorities of the Board

Operational Guidelines

I. Duties: The Council receives recommendations from Divisions on policies, procedures, and programs to meet member needs and to advance the association. The Council members review these issues and either refers them back for further study or advances them to the Board with priority recommendations for implementation.

II. Members: The NACADA Council consists of the six Division Representatives, the Vice President, and the Executive Director.

III. Officers: The NACADA Vice President convenes the Council and leads its meetings. The Vice President serves as a liaison to the Council to assure that the Board has full benefit of the discussions/issues as discussed by the Council and that the Council has the benefit of knowing the priorities of the Board.

IV. Term: Council Members serve the term designated for the positions comprising the Council.

V. Reporting: The Council reports to the Board of Directors.

VI. Meetings: The Council meets immediately preceding and/or during the National Conference each year as well as electronically as needed or as determined by the Board of Directors.
