Position Description

Provide academic advising to incoming and continuing students.


  • Provide academic advice and program information to undergraduate students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; encourage student retention, progression, and graduation.
  • Academic advisors at Kennesaw State University are experienced professionals who provide advising services to current and incoming students.
  • Primary responsibilities include: assisting students with degree and course selection, navigating the university’s academic and co-curricular landscape, and fostering student success through retention, progression, and graduation initiatives.
  • Advisors also play a key role in new student orientation sessions held throughout the summer months.

Kennesaw State University is a member of the University System of Georgia and the third-largest university in the state. 13 colleges on two major campuses. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is located on the Kennesaw Campus which is about 30 miles north of Downtown Atlanta, GA. Academics - Kennesaw State has been elevated to an R3 classification – a doctoral institution with moderate research activity – by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Learning. The university has nearly 150 undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs.
