Position Description
The Advising Center at the University of Nevada, Reno, is seeking a creative and innovative individual for the position of Academic Advisor. Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Advising, the Coordinator performs a major role in the implementation of a comprehensive academic advising system which includes advising and other transition functions for students who have not decided upon a major as well as students pursuing a Bachelor’s of General Studies degree. The Advisor is responsible for participating in the teaching of academic and career exploration courses for undecided students.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience to include at least one year of academic advising, teaching, student services or a closely related field

Preferred Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication; experience in academic advisement; experience in program development and assessment; and interpersonal and human relations skills.
