Position Description
The Academic Advisor within the University Advising Center performs a major role in the implementation of a comprehensive academic advising system which includes advising and other transition functions for students who have not decided upon a major as well as students pursuing a Bachelor’s of General Studies degree. The Advisor is responsible for participating in the teaching of academic and career exploration courses for undecided students. The position reports to the Director, University Advising Center.

-Assist undecided students, students transitioning from one major to another, students pursuing Bachelor of general studies and non-degree students in planning academic programs and course sequencing consistent with students' interests, competencies and aspirations
-Perform advising-related functions for new and prospective students associated with events such as Nevada Bound, Registration, and New Student Orientation, etc.
-Teach academic and career exploration courses for undecided students

Required Qualifications 
Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant experience or Master's Degree and one year of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with college/university students in an academic advising setting
