Position Description

Reporting to the Director of Academic Advising, the Academic Advisor will provide holistic advising for students, in order to help prepare them for a successful college and vocational career.


  • develop relationships while providing support to an advising load of 250 to 300 designated students,
  • prepare advisees for course registration, while connecting registration and degree planning to future vocational goals;
  • maintain accurate records of advisee meetings and connection with advisees throughout the semester;
  • develop early alert/mid-term plans with advisees who may be facing academic challenges; and
  • partner with campus departments to offer advising programs

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in higher education, student personnel, counseling, or a related field and one to two years working with college students are preferred.
